Membership
Membership and organisational structure
Banúlacht is a feminist not-for-profit organisation. Membership is open to those who subscribe to or support Banúlacht’s Feminist Principles. Membership is open to individuals and organisations.Members of Banúlacht have the opportunity to:
- benefit from and contribute to Banúlacht's links with other women and
women's organisations within the global women's movement
- become involved in advocacy and lobbying in relation to women’s global empowerment
- further their interest in and knowledge of global issues from a feminist perspective
- participate in Banúlacht events and conferences at special rates.
Categories of membership
There are two categories of membership: full membership and associate membership. Both are open to both individuals and organisations.
- Full organisational members must be women’s groups, women’s organisations or women’s networks.
- Associate organisational members may be organisations (e.g. national organisations, trade unions, non-governmental organisations or community development projects) that are not women’s organisation, or the women’s sections or committees within such an organisations.
All members receive copies of Banúlacht newsletters, membership updates, policy documents (e.g. submissions and position papers) e-mail bulletins, the annual report and the strategic plan. Members are also entitled to
reduced fees for conferences and other events. Full membership includes voting rights at the Annual General Meeting and the possibility of joining the Banúlacht Executive and Working Groups.
Conditions of membership
All full and associate organisational and individual members must subscribe to the Banúlacht Feminist Principles and with the policy statements in existence at the time of joining. These are available on request from Banúlacht.
